20+ dedicated study spaces across the SFESOM building
Overview
The Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine building features more than 20 dedicated study spaces distributed on floors 2–6. Rooms range from private 1–2 person pods to 4-person collaborative suites.
Private study pods are available to current University of Utah students, faculty, and staff. Walk-in use is permitted.
Collaborative study suites are reservable and for use by MD program students only. Each room accommodates up to 4 people and is equipped with display and sound technology and high-speed wired and wireless network access. Reservations are made through the MD Program Tools app using your uNID.

Room Use Policies
Facilities Use Policy — Study Rooms
- Reservations are limited to 2 hours per booking; extensions permitted if no conflict exists.
- A maximum of 3 active reservations per uNID may be held at any time.
- No-show policy: rooms released after 15 minutes if the reservation holder has not checked in.
- Food and beverages permitted; covered containers required.
- Rooms must be left in the same condition as found. Whiteboards should be erased before departure.
- Rooms may not be reserved for commercial tutoring or activities unrelated to University coursework or research.
