Security Overview
The SFESOM building is monitored around the clock by University of Utah Department of Public Safety personnel in partnership with a dedicated building security desk. Uniformed officers and security ambassadors are present at the main entrance during business hours, with campus-wide coverage continuing 24/7/365 through the University's Department of Public Safety dispatch.

Emergency Procedures
The University of Utah has implemented the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) as its unified, campus-wide approach to emergency communication and action. The SRP's simple, action-based directives support clear and consistent responses to situations ranging from weather events and medical issues to fires, accidents, and security threats. As appropriate, Campus Alert messages will contain SRP language and icons to ensure clear, standardized communication and to facilitate appropriate protective actions during emergency situations.
